Celebrating Pallavi
Pallavi Darbar conducted by Carnatica and Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, will be held from June 17 to 19, 2022. This event is hosted annually, The three-day event focuses on the creativity in Pallavi singing.
This year, the title ‘Tana Gana Praveena’ will be conferred on Dr. T.S. Sathyavati, musician and musicologist.
Conceptualised and curated by vocalist K.N. Shashikiran, the highlights of the festival include a Pallavi Jam dedicated to pallavi and laya expert vidushi Suguna Purishothaman by vidushis Dr. K. Gayatri and Aishwarya Shankar, a musical darbar presented by vidwan Neyveli R. Santhanagopalan featuring vidushis Vidya Kalyanaraman, Vasudha Ravi and vidwan Jayakrishnan Unni and a lec-dem on the art of Tanam presentation by vidushi Dr. S. Sowmya.
Pallavi Darbar will be held at the Mylapore Fine Arts Club Hall, Musiri Subramaniam Road, Mylapore, Chennai.
Admission to all the concerts and lec-dems is free and open to all.
