Santoor and Song
After a hiatus of four years, Banyan Tree brings back its annual festival, ‘Splendor of Masters.’ Following its recent Delhi edition, the festival now heads to Chennai and will later travel to Kolkata and Mumbai.
True to its name, the festival gathers distinguished artists from various genres on one stage, showcasing solo performances and jugalbandhis in an innovative setup.
Scheduled for March 2, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at the Music Academy, the Chennai edition features renowned santoor artist Rahul Sharma, son and disciple of the legendary Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, along with versatile singer Hariharan, known for his expertise in Khayal, thumri, and ghazal. Both artists, celebrated for their unique styles, will present a concert blending classical melodies with contemporary music in a distinct format.
