Chennai: Sivasankari’s book and Aruna Sairam’s concert – March 18, 2023

Sivasankari is a prominent Tamil writer known for her writings on social and human issues, interpersonal relationships, and promoting awareness on alcohol and drug addiction. Her talent and concern for society and young people have earned her a remarkable reputation among writers.

Her Magnum Opus, a book titled “Knit India Through Literature,” which she had undertaken with determination for 16 years is one of her lifetime contributions to Indian literature. The author travelled across India and interviewed distinguished writers in 18 languages to complete the first volume of the book in 2009.

The Shriram Group has later taken on this initiative as their CSR Project to make “Knit India Through Literature” available in major libraries, universities, and colleges across India.

To honour and felicitate Sivasankari’s contribution to Indian Literature and Heritage, a program is organised on March 18, 2023, at The Music Academy, Madras, at 6.30 p.m. Distinguished personalities – writer Damodar Mauzo and Dr. Sudha Seshayyan will formally release the four volumes (each in English and Tamil) of the book during this event. The occasion will also feature a music concert by the very popular Aruna Sairam singing in various languages.

The event is open to all. Seating is first come, first served.
